The new white paper “The Future of Commercial Vehicles” was developed in close collaboration between ITS Mobility, the Fraunhofer Institute for Machine Tools and Forming Technology IWU, Technische Universität Braunschweig, Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences, and move technology. In this joint effort, move technology took a leading role and contributed key insights.
The white paper highlights the crucial decisions that will shape the decarbonization of the commercial vehicle sector. It examines the economic conditions for operating climate-neutral fleets, the respective roles of hydrogen and battery-electric solutions, the requirements for charging and refueling infrastructure, as well as the impact of international competitive pressure, particularly from China. Its aim is to provide orientation and identify concrete areas for action for policymakers, industry, and research.
