Funding Project for Innovative Education Platform “Hydrogen Galaxy” Launched – Paving the Way for the Hydrogen Economy in Saxony

With the official project launch on February 12, 2025, the starting signal was given for the innovative educational initiative “Hydrogen Galaxy – Innovative Learning Platform on the Future Topic of Hydrogen,” developed by move technology GmbH, based in Chemnitz. The project is funded by the European Social Fund Plus (ESF Plus) and the Free State of Saxony.

It is part of the ESF Plus Directive “Future of Vocational Education”, specifically within the program “Region-specific and demand-oriented projects for the development of existing and creation of new or creative formats for vocational training and further education (individual projects).” The maximum grant amount is EUR 2,312,382.26, and the funding period runs until March 31, 2028.

Digital Education Platform for the Future Topic of Hydrogen

“Hydrogen Galaxy” (working title) is a novel digital learning platform designed to address the ongoing transformation in vocational education and to specifically foster skills in the area of sustainable energy carriers – especially hydrogen. The platform focuses on providing flexible and practice-oriented educational content tailored to the needs of both beginners and experienced professionals.

The platform is set to offer:

  • Individually adaptable learning content, aligned with each learner’s prior knowledge and goals
  • Integration of an AI engine and a digital human assistant, which optimize highly individualized learning paths based on learner behavior to ensure efficient knowledge transfer
  • Digital training modules with direct relevance to daily work routines, customized to specific target groups
  • Modular continuing education aligned with current technological developments
  • Curated content from third-party companies and universities

As part of the project, the platform will be piloted, tested, further developed, and rolled out across Saxony, with a special focus on the regions of Chemnitz, Leipzig, and Zwickau.

Goals: Securing Skilled Labor and Supporting Structural Change

With “Hydrogen Galaxy,” move technology GmbH aims to make an active contribution to securing skilled labor, supporting structural transformation, and strengthening Saxony as an industrial and innovation hub. The project links educational innovation with the concrete demands of the energy transition, thereby enhancing regional competitiveness in a forward-looking technology sector.

The project is supported as a grant-based initiative, with funding provided through the European Social Fund Plus (ESF Plus) and public funds from the Free State of Saxony.
